I had a wonderful experience at the hotel. The location is superb, just a short walk from both the city center and the train station. The rooms were cozy, the service was exceptional, and the overall convenience and value made my stay enjoyable. However, the breakfast could use some improvement, lacking variety in options and the view from the dining area wasn't the best.

Thanks to Jose for helping us when we had an issue with our room. The rooms were comfortable with good temperature control and a nice size. The swimming pool and steam room were a nice addition.
Service
9.0
The staff, particularly those downstairs were very friendly and helpful, especially for someone unfamiliar with Reading. They were fantastic and a real credit to the hotel.
Location
10.0
The hotel is centrally located, just two minutes walking distance from both the city center and the train station. The proximity to shopping areas and entertainment spots made it exceptionally convenient for exploring Reading.
Dining
7.0
The breakfast was very nice and fresh, but the limited options might not suit everyone's taste. The view from the dining area wasn't the most appealing but the food quality made up for it.
Facilities
9.0
The facilities were great with a nice swimming pool and steam room. The hotel offered good value for money considering the central location and amenities provided.

5.2/10

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms were basic for the price I paid, and I had an unexpected encounter with a half-eaten pigeon outside my window. While the room was warm and stuffy, it did have a queen bed and a sofa bed for my son, but the separate toilet without a hand basin was a bit inconvenient.

Rooms
5.0
The room was basic for the amount I paid, and the presence of a dead half-eaten pigeon outside the window was off-putting. The room was unbelievably warm and stuffy, but at least it had a queen bed and a sofa bed for my son. The separate toilet without a hand basin was a downside.
Service
5.0
The service was a mix of comfort and frustration. The staff were friendly but poorly trained, leading to delays and issues during my stay. Some were rude and unhelpful, especially at the reception and bar.
Location
8.0
The location was a positive aspect of my stay. The hotel upgraded my room to a perfect one. It's centrally located, close to the center, train station, shops, and restaurants. The noise was not an issue, making it an overall great location, despite quirky aspects like being far from the bathroom for hand washing.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience left much to be desired. The food was disappointing, with subpar options and high prices. It was the most expensive hotel food I've had, and the taste did not justify the cost.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel's facilities were average. While nothing stood out as exceptional, they served their basic purposes adequately.

Although the hotel had some drawbacks, like the delay in room preparation and overlooking a construction site, the comfortable spacious room and convenient location made my stay enjoyable. The friendly service, particularly at the restaurant during breakfast, added a nice touch.

Rooms
6.0
The room wasn't prepared until late afternoon and had some cleanliness issues such as dust accumulation that could affect health. However, it was spacious and suitable for three adults despite the lack of towels and basic amenities.
Service
7.0
The service was friendly, especially in the restaurant during breakfast hours, although there were delays in informing about room availability.
Location

The hotel's location was great for exploring the town center, near restaurants, shops, and transportation hubs like the train station. It made traveling to Heathrow Airport convenient via the railair service.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience had its drawbacks with limited options and some dishes not meeting expectations in terms of quality and value for money.

The hotel offers spacious and clean rooms, but without air conditioning, which was a downside. The service was exceptional, especially with friendly and helpful staff. The central location provided easy access to the city center and transport facilities. The dining experience was good overall, although better staffing during breakfast could enhance the experience. The facilities were well-maintained and pleasant.

My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms were quite hot and airless, and a bit cramped for three people, although they did have a safe. On the bright side, I had the best night's sleep ever in a hotel room; it was so peaceful!

The hotel offers a mix of positives and negatives. On the bright side, the rooms are spacious and well-equipped, making it suitable for both business and leisure travelers. However, the lack of soundproofing, uncomfortable beds, and unhelpful staff were major letdowns. The experience fell short of expectations, especially considering the issues with the doors and parking. Overall, it's a disappointment and doesn't live up to its four-star rating.

Rooms
